No 11 or 12 seed should have to play at Dayton....the 15 and 16 seeds should. No way BYU/Ole Miss should have happened those teams should have both been in. Manhattan/Hampton was fine, but we then should have Lafayette/Coastal Carolina and teams like ND State and Belmont having to play in. Just because you win a weak ass conference tournament doesnt mean you should make the Dance over say Colorado St. (27-6), but if you do get an automatic that way, you should have to play in.
RIGHT???
P.S. Duke Purdue Kentucky all blow

Agreed. Well said for someone from a state with VERY LIMITED basketball options.

I take the opposite side of the argument - let the automatic qualifiers qualify automatically and make the 'last four (or eight)' scrubs earn a Thursday or Friday game.

Does a 16-17 record MEAC tourney champion deserve a chance to play for a national title? All teams with that type of record and RPI MUST play in, period.

The only way any MEAC team gets in is by winning their conference tournament. You win that, you earn your spot in the 64 IMHO. Make the mid-pack guys who didn't win conference or conference tourney have to actually win a game to get in the 64 (yes, I'm looking at you IU). I might actually watch the Tues/Weds games then.
