I already addressed this. Moo. Where the f*** is everybody? I also would like to know where everyone is. I'm showing up at the KCrib eventually. Might bring a friend of mine who's kid used to play in the same soccer league as Matilda Hayes, just an FYI to the Kdawg.

I have thought about responding to this thread for 12 hours and while I understand there is not a more wretched hive of scum and villainy on this here board, I cannot bring myself to say the vile words that I have for this year's selection committee.
So, with that said Kory, maybe next year while switching providers for the brackets I suggest a Discord server for Korynet Coms.

Kinda unrelated, but I found out that Chris Reynolds will take over as committee chair next year. Can't hurt right?

It was a crappy draw for IU and I thought for sure they would get a bye, but they made their own bed with a weak non-con schedule and blowing a few too many close games.

It was a crappy draw for IU and I thought for sure they would get a bye, but they made their own bed with a weak non-con schedule and blowing a few too many close games. but it isn't about that, that is all just coach speak and non sense. The committee is charged with voting teams in the field, then seeding them....It is about comparing the body of work the teams on the 11 and 12 line and IU's was better by almost every metric measure than maybe Virgina Tech who was one seed below on the seed list. It is about the fact that this bracket is wacky as fuck and it is fairly obvious the committee just quit fucking doing anything on Thursday night, maybe Friday at the latest. Sorry but there's some bullshit with this going on probably due to ratings, but the kids that play on these teams expect and deserve a fairly seeded tournament based on their body of work for ALL the games they play. Michigan in front of IU is laughable, Duke ahead of Tennesse is laughable. It's like whatever happened Friday on just didn't matter.

Amazingly the world does not revolve around IU's draw. Seriously though it's fine, let's kick some Cowboy but and then take the redeye flight. Really that is where the bigger complaint for me is. Playing teams in Dayton and sending them west is asinine.

Good grief man.

You've gotta BEAT the best to BE the best.
Lord knows I've been beating it for decades, so here's wassuuuuuuuuu after 1 1/2 large rum & Cokes:
Beat Wyoming.
Beat St. Mary's.
Beat a UCLA squad that's not as good as last year.
Beat a Baylor squad that's not as good as last year 'cuz it's down two players and has a mulletboy.
Await the survivor of the Purdue-Kentucky circle jerk of inbred sheep lovers, then drag that 5-banner satch across whichever's beak survives.
Arrive at that Geeeeee spot, and we can revisit, giggity. :-)

Good grief man. I probably am missing the point. It is a flawed process with human error involved. It will never make everybody happy. As I said, I thought it was crap that we have the play-in game and fly to Portland right after. But the committee always defers to the teams with the tougher preseason schedule. That is well-known. I am not defending it, but saying that IU didn't do quite enough to control our own destiny. Some of that is bad luck because St Johns and Syracuse were down. Still, I hope they schedule a bit tougher next year.

maybe the NCAA should consider having the last eight at large teams in the play in games. I think it is wholly unfair that a team that auto qualified in has to play in play in games. Either that or make the play in games between the lowest 8 seeded auto bids for the 16 seeds in the tourney. Why does Norfolk State get a bye, but not Bryant or Texas Southern.

Reminder, according to the NCAA (don't shoot the messenger) those aren't playin games but the "first 4" - it's a 68 game tourney. Additionally while on the topic, Joe L specifically stated that selection committed historically - time and time again - doesn't put much weight to tourney games. That's why he is so "accurate" - he's figured out that piece of the equation.

All I heard about was strength of schedule. So if you have the strongest schedule in the country and go 13-18, you should get in, right.

I am with both The Spike and The T-Stew on the Fuck Michigan and the at-large play-in thingie.
To the numbers!!!
Norfolk State: KenPom 168 (four worse)/NET 156 (five worse) Bryant: KenPom 183 (two worse)/NET 200 (one worse) Texas Southern: KenPom 188 (one worse)/NET 197 (two worse)
That would be why. :-)

Got to start somewhere. It's a long way to the top if you want to rock and roll. It's not like there is 20+ years of quality IU basketball making them worthy of getting a break.
I think if they don't crap the bed tonight, they got a punchers chance of getting through the first weekend. UCLA is pretty beat up with injuries.
