Best Xs and Os coach in the college game. He has thousands of inbound plays.

In all seriousness, unless they get to sweet 16 I believe in my heart that he is gone.

I've gotten to the point I think most hardcore IU basketball 'fans' (the type that turn their nose up at the 10 seed because it's celebrating mediocrity) are assholes and keeping Crean pisses them off, so I say keep the bastard. Is he an 'elite' coach worthy of an 'elite' program? Probably not. But if it makes some Hoosier Hundred member pop a hemorrhoid then I'm all for it.

Hey Peegs PoolBully, you may want to get on Peegs chat tonight. Everyone including Chronic Hoosier is dissecting the comments I made at the end of the radio show this evening as a farewell to the program.

IU? YAWN. In the Sweet 16? BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Those bastiges shit all over the school's legacy by collectively grabbing ankles in that 64-point loss to fucking Syracuse (one of the lowest points ever for the program, imho) ... after taking a fucking picture with the Big "Ten," lmmfao, trophy AFTER A HOME LOSS ON FUCKING SENIOR NIGHT! Zeller leaving as a fucking SOPHOMORE just finished off the lack-of-reacharound and completed the thoroughly unnecessary hemmorhaging of crimson. What we've seen since is the to-be-expected shit sammich. NONE of this is acceptable to those of us accustomed -- nay, ENTITLED, when one ponders the one great thing we had about Hoosierville (other than the Speedway, o'course) when contrasted to how fucking backward this state has "evolved" into the last few years -- to greatness.
The IU program DEFINED elite, and its totally horseshit collapse is juuuuuust ... fuckin' ... crap.
Signed, Vomit :-)

Pfffft, please. Crean is trolling IU nation. He's sitting there loving it, saying "FAAAAAAHHHHHHHKKKKK EVERY ONE OF YOU!!! IMA STAYING AT LEAST ONE MORE YEAR WITH M'MAN YOGI AND HIS MOM AND TROY AND HIS MOMANDEM AND WE'RE GONNA WIN 21 GAMES NEXT SEASON. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSUCKIT!!!" to himself.
But if anyone cares about such matters as a Peegs chat ... ok, I was watching it ... here's the only thing said about the matter by the man himself...
<@peegs> Honestly I don't know whether CTC will decide to move on or not, but I can tell you in strong terms that program insiders are very clear that he's not leaving. Especially since the rumors really grew after the Iowa loss at home. Is that damage control to keep this team focused? Maybe, but I don't sense that.
Gonna cost 15 large to pull a moving van up to stately Crean manor. Which of you got tree-fiddy to throw in the pot?

Thanks for posting that from PEEGS Steve.
The good news is Chris Reynolds was named the AD over at Bradley yesterday. So give him a couple years to get his feet wet and if Glass contunues to fumble the ball, just eviscerate his ass and bring in Chris to get shit set straight.

Believe me, the peanut gallery was ALL OVER a future with Rock Reynolds running the show last night. And that would be cool someday. Rock is one of our guys. I used to see him at the gas station at 3rd and Indiana bartering for Snickers bars when he was in law school. Will never forget when he took that mid-court charge at Penn State that helped win that game in 92-93. Everyone talking about how great it would be for him to come home. IDIOTS - Peoria, IL, home of Bradley U, actually is the dude's home. Like where he grew up home. He may have his eyes set on a return to alma mater someday, who knows. I'm sure the know-it-alls would find a reason to hate him 5 minutes after he takes the job.
I honestly don't get the Glass hate. People bitch about how terrible he is at hiring coaches. Here's who he hired so far:
- Kevin Wilson - IUFB still finding its way, but he's got better talent in there than any coach since Mallory. - Yeagley's son - 1 nat'l title and a couple conference tourney titles so far - The new baseball guy - Has them at #23 in current rankings - Curt Miller - ok, this one probably needed better vetting. There are rumors of some ex-lover issues that started at BGSU that somehow damaged his ability to do his job. Too bad - dude looked to be a good coach. The new gal has scared off three players, including IU's best scorer. - He fired the men's tennis coach for some issues as well. Not sure if we have a permanent guy in place yet.
He did give Crean the big extension. But that came when things were heavily on the upswing and the dumpster fire had been put out. So I can kind of forgive that.
Otherwise he's overseen completion of new baseball/softball complex, launched add'l football stadium upgrades, got Assembly Hall a much, much needed facelift, and generally has been a good cheerleader for the dept. while keeping things in the black on the balance sheet. There are rumors of a golf course re-design led by Pete Dye as well. Seems like all the things an AD should do.
Maybe I'm missing something. I know basketball is the university's calling card, but we are two seasons removed from a #1 seed in the tournament and got a team with significant missing pieces into this years party. I'm not terribly against another Crean year but wouldn't weep if he left. Dude has some knocks against him for sure (can't coach D, poor tourney record with good teams, possibly coddles stars while overworking others, spazzy to the point of possibly being OCD, burning bridges in the dept).

Unless they shoot the lights out, there is no way IU gets past Wichita State.
When IU could run and gun, it was working, but teams figured out you just have to force them into a 1/2 court game as most good college teams have a mismatch down in the paint. Kinda sad, as the bones of a good club is there, but if they had one of UK's big guys, they could be really good, but they don't have one.
Wichita State must have done something to the selecting committee to give them UK in the second round last year and IU in the first round this year.
I can't see IU eating the guy's salary and then paying some bigger name a ton of dough. I got to figure Crean gets another season, as with the right class and most of these guys should stick, I would think you could have a good club next year.
IU only wins when they have a good big man in the middle, it's pretty much always been that way.

The problem with Crean as I see it is his strength is supposed to be recruiting. He knew Noah was NBA bound and had to have an idea about Fischer so where is our other quality big?? and I know nobody said Hanner because he sucks.
So a recruiter can't recruit that well…HHMMMMM

The problem is that he can't coach bigs. His style of offense doesn't use them well, so they won't come or won't stay. Zeller? Barely used on the block. Did most of his damage facing the basket. Noah? Never posted up. Post up? Never heard of it. High Low post? Too old school. My take on why they even played well this year is due to the lack of a big clogging the middle in his drive and kick scheme.

Crean's albatross will always the THE MOVEMENT. Those punks were supposed to:
1. Provide enough talent to supplement/push the Cody/Vic/Jordy/Watford bunch over the top. 2. Be the foundation for the program through at least this year if not into 2017.
Yogi aside, it was pretty much an .5 for 4 at bat (I'll give Hanner the .5 for at least contributing). One didn't even make it to fall semester, one hobbled around then hobbled off, and one was the laziest player I've ever seen in an IU uniform. Meanwhile Crean passed on/got passed on Gary Harris, Kellen Dunham, Alex Olah, RJ Hunter, and some punks who went to Purdue whose names I won't even bother typing.
Plan fizzled. 13 suffered, 14 was a bust, and 15 passed with a solid D-. And he's been playing catch up ever since.

Definitely another key problem for Crean that some of you have touched on is not winning the National Title in 2013:
Zeller Oladipo Watford Hulls Sheehey Elston Creek Yogi Hollowell Abell Etherington
More talent at one time in Bloomington that has been there in a long time
