What the actual fuck.
So there are 68 teams in the NCAA, 32 in the NIT, 32 in the CIT, 16 in the CBI, and now 16 more in this thing. Total of 164 post-season slots in D1.
What's crazier - there were 197 teams with .500 or better records this season. That means even after you eliminate all the Power 5 programs who won't stoop to take part in one of the sub-NIT affairs, there will still be plenty of teams left over to fill all 164 slots.
I hear the Vegas 16 teams get coups for the seafood buffet at Binions...
